Cypress Lake High School Meeting

On September 30th, both Diabetes and Power to End Stroke initiatives have collaborated and educated more than 120 students at Cypress Lakes High School about the signs/symptoms of stroke and diabetes as well as the steps toward preventative care.

UC Satellite Tabling Event

Our initiatives and committee members were ‪#‎leadingthroughaction‬ as they successfully planned and organized the tabling event at University of Houston Satellite on October 1st, 2015.

Week of September 13th - 20th

9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance

SNPhA teamed up with Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and the Bauer College Alumni Association at the Houston Food Bank in honor of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. With the help of nearly 1,000 UH student and alumni volunteers, we were able to assemble 5,400 bags of food for the Backpack Buddy Program!

Will Walk For Hunger Event

UH SNPhA Diabetes Initiative would like to thank those who came out to the Will Walk For Hunger event yesterday at Denver Harbor Multi-purpose Center! We provided blood glucose screenings and education about Smoking Cessation, Power to End Stroke, and Diabetes! We were able to impact 128 patients and assist the Target Hunger Organization target hunger in the Denver Harbor Community! Special thanks to our preceptor, Robert Persaud for coming out!
